TOMS Shoes vs. BOBS Shoes

TOMS Shoes vs. BOBS Shoes

While walking through the St. Augustine Premium Outlets, it is common to see signs in store windows that lure customers in and persuade them to shop. But, what one might find uncommon is a sign placed in the Skechers window advertising BOBS, a shoe line that gives a new pair of shoes to a child in need after every purchase.

Although BOBS has a generous mission, the launch of this shoe line has come under great scrutiny by avid TOMS buyers throughout the past two years.

TOMS Shoes began in 2006 by Blake Mycoskie, an American traveler who had a goal to help children in need. After traveling to Argentina and seeing thousands of children barefoot, he started TOMS Shoes, a company that after every purchase would give a pair of shoes to a child in need. This movement is called the One for One, and has been successful in giving millions of shoes to children in need in over 40 countries worldwide.

On the other hand, BOBS was launched in 2010 by Skechers. BOBS, just like TOMS, gives a new pair of shoes to a child in need after every purchase through their own program “Soles 4 Souls”. BOBS was not advertised as much in 2010, but now one can see BOBS advertisements on television regularly.

Lea Blackburn, the owner of a shoe store “Tootsies” in Ponte Vedra said, “BOBS does not seem to be as popular as TOMS by any stretch of the imagination, but there are people that have heard of it.”

In addition to having a similar business model, many TOMS buyers are also upset that BOBS shoes and logos look almost identical to TOMS. With the four letter names, and similar type style, many TOMS buyers feel that BOBS have completely copied TOMS logo.

Chandler Carrocio, a Flagler student said, “Coming from a person who owns TOMS ,I think that Sketchers coming out with BOBS is very odd. They are so similar and I just don’t understand why they would come out with the same shoe and concept.”

Kayla Kruse struts at Fashion Week

MILFORD — Kayla Kruse's modeling career has come a long way in a short time, when she joined other leggy beauties on the runway recently at Fashion Week in New York City.
The 19-year-old model and Delaware Valley graduate admitted to being frightened by her experience. Fashion Week is a high stakes event: designers introduce their latest collections, and the media and buyers discover the latest trends. New York, London, Milan, and Paris have the most prominent fashion weeks in the world.
"The designers get a little crazy, and all the press is there,” said the five-foot-ten beauty. “I do get scared walking down the runway. I was scared of falling.”
On those six-inch heels she was wearing, it’s a real possibility.

It started with a pageant win

Kayla's first experience showing off clothes came at around age 6, when she and her cousin entered a pageant. Kayla noticed that her cousin and all the other girls wore fancy pageant dresses, while she wore her Easter dress. To her surprise, she won.
“After that I loved being in front of the camera and used to take pictures all the time," she said.
She got her first big modeling job all by herself. In 2010, she emailed Seventeen Magazine to ask if they needed girls. The magazine invited her to Prospect Park in Brooklyn for a photo shoot, and she appeared in an August 2010 issue.
“Meeting all the nice people" is her favorite part of the work. "Everybody is so nice, the photographers have been so nice," she said.
Kayla feared the designers might be "mean, nasty and crude, but they weren’t.” She also likes meeting other models from all over the world.
“Playing dress up" is fun, she said. "I love fashion, and this made me learn so much about fashion. Many of the designers give me the clothes after I model."
Kayla had a few modeling jobs while in high school. She’s worked for Harper’s Bazaar and has been featured on Style.com, along with some modeling on a smaller scale.
One month ago, she signed with Boss Modles New York, which led to her Fashion Week gig. She found the agency through models.com, and sent in photos.
“I always wanted to model but was scared to go to the city and get denied," she said. "Luckily I went to two different agencies, and they both wanted to sign me. My agent is so nice and easy to talk to."

The girl next door

Kayla lives in Milford and works at a TJ Maxx store in New Jersey. The job helps pay for her commute to modeling gigs in the city.
Her burgeoning celebrity is catching up with her. Some co-workers have already asked for her autograph.
She puts her height to uses other than modeling.
“I love basketball," she said. "I used to play basketball" — and she still does, with family and friends. "But now I’m more focused on modeling."
The most difficult part has been maintaining her weight.
“I eat junk food," she said. "I love cheeseburgers, fries. Now I try to eat healthier food like vegetables and chicken.”
It's also tough dealing with not being chosen. She’s glad she didn’t have to go to casting calls while still in high school.
“There are so many beautiful, skinny girls at casting calls," she said. "You’re turned down a lot."
It's not enough to be pretty. You must have "the look" designers are looking for.
But she believes dealing with being turned down has made her stronger as a person.
“I take it as a learning experience," she said. If she'd encountered rejection as a high school student, she said, "I’d think, ‘My God, I’m so ugly.’ Now I know I’ll get another opportunity. If I went to the city while in high school it would be so much harder to deal with.”
Kayla wants to live in the city someday to be closer to her modeling work. But she’s heard some “weird stories” about the goings-on in some apartments shared by models. Her family is her greatest support, she said, and hopes eventually to share an apartment in the city with her sister.
If she wasn’t a model, what would she be?
“An FBI agent, actually,” she said. “I’m taking online college courses now. Last year I went full time.”
She wants to major in criminal justice, perhaps eventually transferring to John Jay College.
But you don’t need to be a detective to see that Kayla has brains as well as beauty, and a bright future beckoning.

Messe Duesseldorf Plans Launch of Footwear Event in Shanghai

Messe Duesseldorf Plans Launch of Footwear Event in Shanghai

The new show will be held as part of the China International Footwear & Leathergoods Exhibition – CIFL at the Shanghai Exhibition Center.

The event will be supported by the China Commerce Association for General Merchandise (CCAGM) - the state retail federation whose members include all the well-known department stores and shopping centers in the country - and Adsale, a long-standing partner of Messe Düsseldorf.

Another edition of GDS Select also is planned in autumn 2013 to take place parallel to the CHIC fashion fair in Beijing.

The new shows in Shanghai and Beijing will fit neatly into Messe Duesseldorf’s show portfolio, which already includes GDS – international event for shoes & accessories and GLOBAL SHOES – trade show for sourcing, held twice annually in Duesseldorf, Germany.

Through its subsidiary Messe Düsseldorf China, the company has been active in China since 1999 with offices in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Chongqing and Shenyang.

With incomes on the rise, the Chinese population is developing a taste for higher quality consumer goods – including clothing, footwear and bags, according to Messe Duesseldorf.

In the shoe sector alone, experts anticipate the market share for footwear in the mid to high-end price range to increase from the current 60 percent level to 70 percent in 2020 – with the premium segment expanding as well.

GDS Select 2013 will be a show for selected international brands and will be held in its own pavilion alongside the China International Footwear & Leathergoods Exhibition.

Both events will only be open to trade visitors from the fashion retail and industry segments. On a gross exhibition space of 215,200 square feet, more than 200 exhibitor collections will be showcased.

The exhibitors’ collections will be complemented by a comprehensive supporting program, including design competitions, as well as seminars and lectures focusing on fashion and business aspects.

To mark the event, the CCAGM will invite some 1,000 buyers from large department stores across China to a summit meeting for the shoe sector. Another highlight will be the Shanghai Fashion Week which will overlap with the trade fairs.

Our Wedding Story: Seni Adebajo-Olowa & Adeyinka Ojo

Our Wedding Story: Seni Adebajo-Olowa & Adeyinka Ojo

BN Our Wedding Story is here again! We have always been fascinated by couples who complete all their wedding ceremonies on the same day. It is not an easy feat and it takes a lot of energy and organization so we are so excited to show off Seni Adebajo-Olowa & Adeyinka Ojo‘s big day!

The couple tied the knot in 2012 and did it in lovely style. Seni made sure her love of gold was clear with her accessories and the gold embroidered accents of her wedding dress. Her beau Adeyinka was very stylish in his grey suit paired with a black bow tie and suspenders.
For all brides out there, the bride, Seni says, “My one tip for brides to be is that you really don’t need to be stressed before the d-day!…start planning early, pray hard and prepare to have a blast on your once-in-a-lifetime day!“

When asked about what advice they would give other couples on the path towards their big day, the newlyweds told BN Weddings, “Filter through whatever advice people give you! there’s no one like you out there, make your own memories, mistakes and special moments!“

How Seni & Adeyinka Met
My firm is retained as an external solicitor to his bank, so on one of my numerous visit to the bank in October 2009, I noticed him.

I thought to myself – “hot looking” and “nice shirt” but he didn’t notice me AT ALL!

The officer attending to me told me to come back the next day after keeping me waiting so I kind of left a tad bit upset and didn’t give him another thought.

The next time I went there, I had totally forgotten he existed. I picked the documents I came for and had just made a beeline for my car when I heard “hi, excuse me“….the voice was deep and hot enough to stop me in my tracks! I turned and it was the same guy! He said “Hi, my name is Yinka and please I would like to have your number“. My first thought was “my number ke?you didn’t even ask for my name!“….and his confidence irritated the hell outta me :)

….So I opened my mouth to berate him and the stupidest thing came out “ehn…I hope you’re not married o!“….I laughed out of shame because I couldn’t believe what I just said….He looked at me quizzically and said “cant i have your number for business purposes since you’re a lawyer and all“.

To save face, I hurriedly gave him my business card and ran to my car. It was later that he confessed that he noticed me on the same day I noticed him and begged the officer I came to see to please call him the next time I come to the bank (rolling eyes!)…….and that’s how it all began.

Companies Target European Poor With Third World Marketing

Companies Target European Poor With Third World Marketing

Three years into the global financial crisis, multinational companies that had made huge profits during the consumer boom that preceded it faced a major dilemma: people were no longer buying the expensive premium products that once sold well in Europe.

That was the complaint from the chief of Unilever’s [ULVR-LN  2292.00  ---  UNCH    ] European operations, Jan Zijderveld, who told the German edition of the Financial Times last August that “poverty has returned to Europe.”

His plan to tackle the challenge was for the world’s third-largest consumer goods company, which owns such brands as Flora margarine and Persil laundry detergent, to market its products as if to customers in Third World countries.

The company would sell more laundry detergent to cash-strapped consumers by offering smaller, cheaper packages, a strategy long employed in Asian countries such as Indonesia, where average monthly wages are less than $400.

In Greece, the country hardest hit by the crisis affecting the euro single currency, Unilever now offers mashed potatoes and mayonnaise in small bargain packages, and markets tea, olive oil and other basic products under cheaper generic brand labels.

Others are also adjusting their strategies.

Cut-price “austerity” menus are now common in restaurants across Europe. In France, elite chef Alain Ducasse is trying to entice the masses with a “buy one, get one free” deal in 1,000 participating restaurants, some with Michelin stars.

Spare Times for Children for Sept

You’ve probably heard of the cow that jumped over the moon. That’s an impressive trick, but what about the jade rabbit that actually lives there and devotes its life to fancy chemistry?

That rabbit, a beautiful woman and a brave archer will all play roles on Sunday when the Museum of Chinese in America presents its Mid-Autumn Moon Festival Family Day, honoring one of China’s most important holidays.

“You can equate it almost with Thanksgiving,” said Karen L. Lew, the museum’s director of education and visitor services. “It’s a celebration of the fall harvest and families coming together.”

The most important reunion is that of the woman Chang-Er and the archer Ho Yi. In Chinese legend the emperor had given Ho Yi the elixir of life as a reward. Ho Yi hid this magical substance, but his wife, Chang-Er, found it and swallowed it.

“She discovered immediately that she could fly,” Ms. Lew said. Chang-Er soared straight to the moon, but because of her transgression she was not allowed to return. In one version of the tale the jade rabbit, her sole companion, grinds herbs forever, trying to recreate the lost potion.

From then on Ho Yi and Chang-Er live apart, except during the festival. “At this time the moon’s at its brightest, and he can come and visit her,” Ms. Lew said.

At noon Chinese Theater Works will present “Chang-Er Flies to the Moon,” conceived by Kuang-Yu Fong and Stephen Kaplin, and directed and designed by Mr. Kaplin. The show tells the festival story with shadow puppets. (Left, Chang-Er and the rabbit.)

Children can also make their own puppets, as well as colorful lantern designs and folded-paper decorations. And they will learn about the festival’s signature dish, mooncakes — legend says these filled pastries were used to conceal messages of rebellion against Mongol invaders during the 1300s — and create them from clay.

The day will also include gallery tours, art demonstrations and, at 1:30 p.m., a reading and craft workshop for children 4 to 8 by Kam Mak, author and illustrator of “My Chinatown: One Year in Poems.” He salutes a purely terrestrial neighborhood, but those seeking a glimpse of the other kind can gaze upward.

“Sometimes,” Ms. Lew said, “people say when you look at the moon, you can see the outline of the jade rabbit and Chang-Er.”

(10 a.m. to 5 p.m., 215 Centre Street, between Howard and Grand Streets, Lower Manhattan, 212-619-4785, mocanyc.org. Free with admission: $7; $4 for students and 65+; free for under 12 and members.) LAUREL GRAEBER

For Children

‘Archaeology Zone: Discovering Treasures From Playgrounds to Palaces’ (Friday, Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday) Children will step into the shoes of an explorer like Indiana Jones in this permanent exhibition at the Jewish Museum, but the adventures will be purely scholarly. Still, there is plenty of excitement in analyzing artifacts like a jar handle, a clay jug and a bangle and figuring out the purpose behind ancient pieces like a Greek helmet and a bull-shaped vessel. This interactive show, for ages 3 to 10, also includes a recreated room from the Ottoman period (about 1900), where young archaeologists can dress in costume. From 11 a.m. to 5:45 p.m., except this Tuesday, when the museum will close at 2 p.m. for Yom Kippur; until 8 p.m. on Thursdays; 1109 Fifth Avenue, at 92nd Street, (212) 423-3200, thejewishmuseum.org. Free with admission: $12; $10 for 65+; $7.50 for students; free for under 12 and members.

10 Signs You're Not as Rich as You Could Be

10 Signs You're Not as Rich as You Could Be

Are you frustrated with your finances? Drowning in debt? Or just not sure where your money goes each month?

Saving more of your paycheck doesn't have to mean pinching pennies and clipping coupons; sometimes all it takes is a new perspective and some good habits. For a few (easy) ways to grow your net worth, consider these 10 Signs You're Not as Rich as You Could Be:

1. There's a designer logo on your handbag, shoes, or clothing. Don't pay a premium to flaunt a famous name on your attire (they should be paying you for all that free advertising!). Many designer items are made in the same Chinese factories as less expensive goods. The only message those logos convey is that you paid too much.

2. You have a key to a public storage unit. The problem here is twofold: you spent a lot of money on things you don't use, and you continue to waste money on storing them. The best course of action: sell the contents of the unit on Craigslist, eBay, or at a garage sale, and hand over the keys.

3. Your house has more bedrooms than people. Consider if you really need all that square footage. Downsizing to a smaller abode can save you money in myriad ways: you'll reduce your rent or mortgage payment, utilities, and the amount of stuff you need to buy to "fill" your space.

4. You have no idea what your tap water tastes like. Packaged drinks (like juice, soda, and bottled water) can do a number on your grocery budget. Quench your thirst with tap water instead--the recommended eight glasses of water a day cost only about $1 per year.

5. You often receive compliments on the color of your hair, toenails, or fingernails. If you're a regular at the salon, cut your visits in half -- or better yet, eliminate them altogether. Have a spa day at home instead: light some candles, put on some relaxing music, and give yourself a DIY manicure or pedicure.

6. Your TV channels number in the double (or triple) digits. Drop the expensive cable, fiber optic, or satellite television services -- and put your money and time to better use. Many shows are available for viewing on the internet; and if you're a movie buff, a subscription service like Netflix may be more economical than premium channels.

7. Your car has a fancy hood ornament. A car is a means of transportation from point A to point B -- not a reflection of your identity or success (as marketers would have you believe). Luxury cars are more expensive to purchase, maintain, and insure. Sell that money-guzzler and instead of looking rich, be rich.

8. Your refrigerator is empty. When there's no food in the house, it's much too tempting to eat out (or stop for takeout). Action plan: make a menu for the week, shop with a grocery list, and stock your fridge with fresh food that's easy to prepare. Consider cooking several meals at once and freezing them; they'll be ready-to-eat on those nights when you're too tired to cook.

9. You set foot in a shopping mall more than once last month. The best way to save money is to stay out of stores -- it's an incredibly easy way to preserve your wealth. And by all means, don't shop for entertainment; limit your purchases to necessities, and spend your leisure time at the park instead.

10. You're still paying off holiday credit card bills. You'll have much happier holidays by heeding the following advice: never buy gifts on a credit card. Tailor your budget to the cash you have on hand. If you have little to none, don't despair: give people handmade items, baked goods, or the gift of your time. It'll be much more appreciated than anything bought in a store!

Obama Crashes Iowa Wedding, Leaves Agenda and Gift

Obama Crashes Iowa Wedding, Leaves Agenda and Gift
On one of Admiral Obama's trips to the busline beforehand this month, he about comatose a adolescent couple's wedding. But the helpmate and benedict got a little something to accomplish the bearings easier to bear.
This busline brace had been planning their marriage at Living History Farms for six months. One anniversary afore the big day, they got some big account about an abrupt visitor.

Sayli Gibbs had her marriage day planned down to the endure cupcake. "A rustic and best wedding. We anticipation the barn would be absolute for that."
What wasn't absolute for her and Jon's marriage on September aboriginal was a abruptness assemblage by the Admiral of the United States.
"Just our luck, blazon of thing," said Jon Gibbs "That's affectionate of how we were both like, oh yeah, abstracts the one abode we choose, the admiral aswell chooses."

The brace action about it now but just afore the bridal the accent sank in. They begin out the admiral ability be blockage backward and they couldn't get in the parking lot that morning.

"We had to airing beyond Hickman with my marriage dress and suitcase," said Sayli. "We had about three altered girls allowance accustomed it."
Luckily, the dress survived, and the admiral larboard aboriginal abundant that the marriage went off after a block and concluded clashing annihilation they'd anytime imagined.

"Everything has the presidential seal," Jon said affairs out a bag.
Inside is a handwritten agenda that read, "Congratulations on the wedding. Michelle and I ambition you a abundant activity together. Barack Obama."
Also, a argent tray and a excellent julep cup.

"I mean, what do you do with a excellent julep cup? You accept to accomplish a excellent julep," said Jon. "So I acclimated it the aboriginal night for sure."
Jon and Sayli acquisition it harder to accept the a lot of able man in the apple took the time to congratulate them. And even admitting neither one is a registered Democrat, they say it's still the coolest allowance ever.
"Love him or abhorrence him, it's a allowance from the president," Jon said.
The two say they wouldn't re–do the marriage after the admiral because it's just too agitative of a story.

Jon has a advancement for the president. The next marriage he crashes he should leave a allowance of lifetime tax–exemption.

hot prints accord way to air-conditioned marble

hot prints accord way to air-conditioned marble
The aboriginal appearance anticipation from London appearance anniversary is brittle and cool. Afterwards the bouncy explosions of book and colour that accept characterised British appearance in contempo years, the prevailing wind shows signs of a change of direction. Minimalism and workwear, Carrara marble and white paper: the references are alpha to abatement about a theme.
Shoes – generally a advantageous adviser to area a division will sit on the grunge to allure calibration – are about an affected but low-heeled sandal, in a aloof colour. Dungarees are assertive for their aboriginal improvement aback the canicule of acerbic house. Shirtdresses in alabaster white or pyjama dejected are getting apparent on the balustrade with that adage of 90s glamour, the "no architecture makeup" look.
Kate Phelan, artistic administrator of Topshop, is at the beat of the new affection with the Topshop Unique balustrade collection. "The spirit of 90s appearance was all about women cutting clothes their own way, about a chargeless and alone appearance that isn't about artful balustrade looks.
"That's what this abstraction of a 90s awakening is about, because that's the way I attending at appearance now, so those account feel actual powerful."
Fluid suits, draped dresses, bendable trousers and airy dressmaking were the foundations of the Unique collection, the connected affection ashen with anemic blush and silver. A two-piece of trousers and besom covering in fluid, daffodil-hued cottony will be beat calm on the catwalk, but as Phelan put it: "I'd aswell abrasion the covering over jeans and a T-shirt, or over a atramentous dress for evening."
Topshop Unique, a exceptional alms from the top artery giant, is now one of the a lot of important shows on the London appearance anniversary schedule. And London Appearance Anniversary itself is now extensive an admirers abounding times bigger than was conceived of a decade ago. The ability of the internet has accumulated with an admission of absorption in appearance to accord the balustrade new levels of accumulation exposure. The livestream of the Topshop appearance was watched by two actor humans in 100 countries.
Topshop's cachet is a absorption of how badly the antithesis of ability in the British appearance industry has shifted. Top artery stores, already abandoned to searching through the keyhole at "proper" fashion, are now dining at the top table.
Topshop are now a cogent angel of arising British designers, allotment balustrade shows by able names with apprentice businesses. Top artery collaborations are now accepted by designers as a way to pay their bills and augment their audience.
There is no added almighty attribute of fashion's new centre of force than the contempo career aisle of Phelan herself, who ancient the dainty column of Vogue appearance editor for Topshop, appropriately swapping admission to the Chanel haute couture salons for the ability to access the wardrobes of millions of British women.
Nicole Farhi's accumulating was aggressive by memories of a appointment to the marble quarries of Carrara in Tuscany. The additional colour palette – from book white to slate grey, almond to honey – was accustomed aciculate edges by abbreviate ribbons of sequins which ran through the accumulating like veins through marble. The new bendable clothing – analogous brim and blouse, beat as a dress – fabricated several appearances.
Preen, the British characterization advised by bedmate and wife aggregation Justin Thornton and Thea Bregazzi, was aback on the London appearance anniversary balustrade this weekend afterwards contempo seasons assuming in New York. "A buzz of 90s minimalism … the decade the cast was born," promised the addendum handed out afore the show.
This was minimalism at its prettiest and a lot of alluring. The tripped-out, digitalised florals of antecedent seasons were replaced by subtle, tonal peony prints. Preen has a sophisticated, aesthetic yield on graphics, acid in allotment through acknowledgment to the New York appearance atmosphere, and this season's additional windowpane checks, giraffe and stingray prints looked absolutely on-point for the season.
Mary Katrantzou
If appearance is area art meets commerce, Mary Katrantzou hit the bullseye.
Katrantzou's clothes are cars for her aces prints, but the cut and contour is never just an afterthought. Instead, the prints are fabricated bespoke for anniversary garment, so that anniversary section is a plan of art. With a pricetag.
The affair was postage stamps (for day-wear) and banknotes (for evening-wear). So the accidental pieces evoked postage stamps from alien holidays, the added affected pieces the crackle and glint of cash.
Philatelic motifs – from parrots to butterflies, ocean after-effects to temples – fabricated for an upbeat antic through day-tripper appointment iconography. Scallops and curlicues akin the apparel as if they were alone stamps. Black dresses acclimated the afflatus in a beneath accurate way, with bright aghast sections, busy calligraphic patterns and aciculate pleats to resemble bankrupt notes. Day-wear looked collectable, and evening-wear precious.

Italian Bonds Look Better; Not as Acceptable as Italian Shoes, But…

Italian Bonds Look Better; Not as Acceptable as Italian Shoes, But…
The exceptional investors appeal for lending to afflicted countries like Spain and Italy has alone acutely in contempo weeks, and there may be added allowance for them to abatement afterwards today’s cardinal from the German Constitutional Court.
But they’ve got a connected way to go afore anybody considers these safe bets again.
In absolute acknowledgment agreement — acceptation including amount assets and absorption payments — Italian government bonds accept been big winners this year. Through Tuesday, they were up 14.6%, year-to-date. Much of those assets accept appear over the endure brace months.
Since the day afore Mario Draghi’s July 26 agreement to do “whatever it takes” to bottle the bill union, Italian Treasurys are up 9.7%, according to Barclays BARC.LN +0.32% basis data. The absolute acknowledgment on Spanish bonds accept done even bigger back Draghi’s comments, ascent 10.7%, although year-to-date they’re up just 1%.
European government and accumulated bonds were the top performers in Citigroup C +1.19%’s World Broad Investment-Grade Bond (WBIG) Basis for August, with covered coffer bonds abiding 3.44% unhedged and adopted absolute bonds in the basis abiding 3.30% unhedged. That’s added than three times the index’s 09.1% unhedged acknowledgment for the month.
Part of the run up in European bonds is artlessly a alteration of overselling beforehand in the year and the bonds are beneath adorable at accepted prices accustomed the connected accident adverse the region, said Fran Rodilosso, a portfolio administrator for Bazaar Vectors, Van Eck Global’s ETF division. “There has been a acceptable assemblage for Europe but there will be bigger access credibility in the approaching and appropriate now we see added amount and beneath downside in arising bazaar corporates,” he said.

LeBron shoe amount “inaccurate”

LeBron shoe amount “inaccurate”
Stop the presses, displace the servers: Instead of the appear $315, a brace of the yet-to-be-released, limited-edition LeBron X enabled shoes — complete with motion sensors to admeasurement vertical bound — will amount “only” about $290, according to a Nike spokesman. (At that price, why not splurge for assorted pairs?)
The shoe behemothic rallied bygone afterwards furor over aerial sneaker prices, pointing out that they action articles at assorted amount points. (A stripped-down, basic adaptation of the LeBron X will retail for $190.) The company, which dominates the American shoe market, blames accretion labor, actual and shipment for accretion costs rather than the admiration to burrow customers.
If you anticipate the antecedent retail amount is crazy, just delay until they advertise out in hours and alpha hitting E-Bay, area array of limited-edition shoes are traveling for four and even 5 figures. For example, brace of LeBron 7 “Big Apple” Christmas shoes can be castigation for alone $3,550. Or if you absolutely wish to splurge, how about an unworn brace of aboriginal 1986 Air Jordans, with behest starting at $32,750?
At those prices, the active brace of LeBron VI Olympic shoes I bought for $1,500 to add to my memorabilia accumulating doesn’t assume so bad.

Karats describe how pure the gold within a pair of earrings

Karats describe how pure the gold within a pair of earrings is; the higher the percentage of gold in the earrings, the larger the karat. The following are the most common Karat ratings you will encounter when shopping:24K = Pure Gold18K = 75% Gold (18 parts gold and 6 parts other metal)14K = 58.3% Gold (14 parts gold and 10 parts other metal)12K = 50% Gold (12 parts gold and 12 parts other metal)10K = 41.7% Gold (10 parts gold and 14 parts other metal)In the course of your shopping you will come across 14K gold frequently. 14K gold earrings tend to be the most popular because they contain more than 50% gold and are usually reasonably priced; not as expensive as 24K gold earrings and yet not cheap enough to be 10K earrings.

However, they must make sure and wear only gold earrings with a high gold content. Unfortunately, this makes the purchase more expensive, for 18K or 24K earrings are generally required in order to avoid an allergic reaction.Gold is very versatile and can easily be worked into any shape a metallurgist has in mind. The limit to shaping gold is only as restrained as the imagination of the metallurgist. One ounce of gold can be compressed into an extremely thin sheet that is ten square feet in size. Whether gold is hammered into thin sheets or strands, the metal still remains sturdy. The most important element of shopping for gold earrings is the karat factor.

If you want to stay on your girl's good side you want to be sure and avoid 10K.While 24K gold earrings are nice and your girlfriend or wife will appreciate them, they are also not very practical. Because 24K is pure gold it is quite soft and susceptible to damage, not the sort of practical jewelry accessory for daily wear. It is best to decide on a pair of gold earrings that contain some amount of another metal, so that the earrings are durable, and the price stays low.Gold can be made into different colors, which means you will have to decide on one when shopping. By adding other metals to gold when creating the earrings metallurgists can create white gold, or by adding copper or silver can create a rosy pink or greenish color to the earrings, respectively.
